Introduction

The UC-8100 computing platform is designed forembedded data-acquisition applications. The computer comes with oneor two RS-232/422/485 serial ports and dual 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LANports, as well as a mini PCIe slot to support cellular modules. Theseversatile communication capabilities let users efficiently adapt theUC-8100 to a variety of complex communications solutions.

The UC-8100 is built arounda Cortex-A8 Arm–based processor that has been optimized for use inenergy monitoring systems, but is widely applicable to a variety ofindustrial solutions. With flexible interfacing options, this tinyembedded computer is a reliable and secure gateway for data acquisitionand processing at field sites as well as a useful communication platformfor many other large-scale deployments.
